    On November 22nd and 23rd of 2019, we filmed a two-day event called Rojava Strong, which included a host of guest speakers, live music, a Kurdish buffet, tabled literature, a silent auction, documentary screenings, live paintings, and a rally. The goal was to raise awareness of Rojava and to protest against the violence and aggression committed by Turkey. The Guest speakers spoke about 1) the people, culture, and history of Rojava, 2) Democratic Confederalism and it’s commitment to gender equality, participatory democracy, and ecological sustainability, and 3) its imminent threat under invasion, occupation, and genocide.
